Pope sees rising tide...

OK, this one is good as gold as far as clues that something is afoot with human spiritual growth.

It seems the Pope of the Catholic Church is noticing that something is happening too, only he's taking steps to try to avert it.

Is the sun setting on the Catholic Church?

If I am right about the dawning of a new level human consciousness, It only makes sense that any organized religion would react violently and attempt to cast individual experience in a negative and frightening light.

After all, it would mean that people would be "waking up" to the fact that there is no one between the individual and the divine, and would strike a death blow to the heart of any organization that claimed to be THE conduit to god.

Here's a key quote from this article that perked my ears right up:

"The Pope is said to be deeply concerned by the explosion in the number of pseudo-mystics who, claiming a direct line to God, set themselves against the bishops and lure the Catholic faithful out of the Church and into disobedient cults. "

I think its understandable that the pope would attempt to quash something that would destroy both his and his organizations power.

But to me, the mere fact that this "explosion" has come to the Pope's attention, is as close to proof that I'm gonna get that humanity IS on the brink of a new psychic awareness.

Sunburst II: A creative fire in the mind.

This post will make more sense after you've read my first "Sunburst" post.

...So, I've had this meditation for years, and found it very helpful when I feel uninspired, afraid or even angry.

Then, two years ago we bought a house. A serious fixer, in addition to the interior needing lots of work, the back yard was essentially an uneven slope of weeds with one big tree in the corner.


I was surprised once we moved in how motivated I was to develop the garden, I had always considered myself a brown thumb, able to kill any house plants I neared. But now I was burning with desire, and spent every waking moment either working on it or meditating on it.


The process has been one of the most important "wizard classes" I've had, I feel I have learned a host of new skills (I could use that new vocabulary about now) in both creation and collaboration.

One of the many learning's I had from this process was a new understanding of my sunburst. Without trying, I would find it floating in front of my minds eye.

As I watched it and pondered, I noticed its character became clearer to me, the texture was no longer just undifferentiated glowing light, now I could see that it was made up of something related to flames that are somehow also sparks.

Constantly in motion, its like a jewel with limitless facets that endlessly turn in on themselves. (The motion reminded me of computer animations of theoretical 4th dimensional objects, such as hypercubes.)



I noticed that it came up most strongly for me at the point where I was shifting from "conceptualizing" my garden plans and moved into the physical "action" of landscaping.

One day, a moment of inspiration hit me that set off a series of profound inner experiences. I had the strong sense that this image, was a representation of what I now call the "reality engine".

I have long believed that we create our reality in a sort of subconscious state, and then somehow translate that into three dimensions, I am now convinced that this image is symbol of the process we use to do that.

What's more, I now think that this is not a completely subjective, abstract vision based on my meditation, but instead a universal symbol of reality generation.

You see, I started to realize its uncanny resemblance to the ancient symbol of the mandala. For awhile, every time I would see a mandala, I would say to myself "that's it!"

But it didn't stop there, soon, I began to see how often in nature we experience a burst of life in a similar visual pattern, suddenly they all seemed to be symbolic representations of the reality engine; a flower opening and our sun of course are two obvious corollaries.

The image even came up in my artwork.

Although I knew nothing of the official ideas of what a mandala is, a simple "Googling", found this, which sounds very close to the understanding I came to by myself.

I would love to hear if any of you have had any similar experiences.

Difficult to Describe...

Language shapes our reality in ways we don't often consider. How do you talk about something there are no words for, in fact, how do you even think about it?

A simple example is to consider that there is only one word in English to describe love, yet in other languages there are words that clarify and classify the type of love (parent/child, platonic and romantic, etc)

The extra descriptors facilitate the discussion and even the mental exploration of what love is, they allow the concepts to be refined and combined. The language creates not only a way of communicating, but also a mental matrix for internal dialogue as well.

As an artist and writer, I want to help create a new vocabulary, one robust enough to describe the nuances of human experience and yet simple enough to be useful. I, of course, want to focus on areas that describe experiences and events at the edges of our reality.

I REALLY don't know what this language would look or sound like, but I do know that it is going to need to reflect multidimensional and subjective realities. To me this sounds like something that must go beyond words, it seems that it almost must use a combination of a wide array of symbols and media to even approach describing these subjects.

I also think it will need a new kind of "objectivity", which is simply an understanding and acceptance that all reality/perspectives are both uniquely subjective AND valid.

So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across this site today, "Xenolinguistics" where their stated purpose is: "evolving language in the psychedelic sphere". Just the idea that other people are considering the concept that we need more from our language in these areas seems to me as another pointer that our mass consciousness is opening up.

If you belive in demons...

Ok, here's one from a truly unexpected source.

Here we have an interesting viewpoint about UFOs. Stephen Yulish PhD presents his information as evidence that UFOs are demonic spiritual activity.


While I truly appreciate the effort to consider event's in a spiritual light, I don't agree with his conclusions.

As you know from my stated beliefs, I believe that iconography like demons or angels are really just belief matrix's that we use to filter the universe around us into our own subjective reality.

While I fully acknowledge they have validity for people who believe in them, I am convinced that like all other classifications, they are of our own manufacture.

So while Dr. Yulish sees this through the lens of 'god' and evil, I see this as yet another event that pushes our normal reality, and yet another desperate grasp at a familiar set of ideas to explain it.

Take a look and see if you get the same thing.

Hunting the Paranormal "Objectively"

So here is an interesting story about clinical psychologist Thomas Rabeyron, a very diligent bloke, who really wants to get to the bottom of all this paranormal stuff.

It's a good case study for my point of view, because while his intentions are there, he's still gonna try to shoe horn alternate realities into a scientific, "objective" study.


His big complaint is that the phenomena all seems to vanish when he studies it "objectively":

"All we know is that in similar experiments, whenever the cameras were around, the occupants were more comfortable and the phenomena came to an end."

I propose that it's not the camera's that inhibit observation of the activity, but the attitude of the researchers. Note how he's already limited the possible explanations, and has discounted his own contribution in all of them:

"The only explanations for this would be that the occupants were faking it and didn't want to be caught out, that there was some kind of psychological explanation that was canceled out by the presence of the cameras, or that the phenomenon was caused by a real poltergeist that didn't want to be caught on film."

Its funny how scientists keep holding to the premise that something can be viewed objectively, even though science itself has proven that the act of observing changes the results.

Assume for a moment that its this researcher's own biases that are limiting his ability to observe the phenomena, what do you think he could do to be successful?

My Operating Beliefs:

I list my beliefs because I believe that objectivity is a myth and that everyone can only see the world through their own "reality converter box".

Therefore, I feel answers lie in sharing our world views, not attempting to pretend they don't exist. Trusting that all points of view are equally valid.

We may never be able see things the exact same way, but variety is the spice of life, it may even be the point.


I believe...

consciousness, not matter, is the primary building block of our universe.

we are all fundamentally, immortal interconnected multidimensional energy beings that are focused, for the moment, on being human.

we all create and experience our own reality anew, every instant.

everything in our exterior reality are symbols we create to represent our inner psychic reality

all consciousness is limitless, and that the only reason we don't always see past the limits is that we're busy pretending there are limits, "playing" human and exploring that experience.

that consciousness creates consciousness, and each of our individual consciousness has ancestors and offspring we're not even aware of.

there is room for all religions. Regardless of what spiritual rituals, symbols, or deities speak to you, as long as you really believe in them, they're gonna work.

you can't do it wrong. Your experience is your experience, valid just the way it is. The only one who can judge it is you, and on that, I advise caution.

Groundswell

I'm starting this blog, because I feel compelled to. For the last several years I have felt my personal spiritual growth constantly accelerating. More recently, reality seems to be sending me little hints that a profound spiritual awakening is actually happening to the entire human race, and I'm supposed to blog about it.

My plan is simple, I will share with you insights and ideas that touch my spirit, as well as start a kind of "psychic trend watch", looking for "psychic clues" in the culture and in your comments that may point the way to whatever is next.
